Aside from being recognized by the SAFD as an advanced actor combatant, Lauren is also proficient with weapons like bull whips, kali sticks, and cutlasses.

Lauren has a background in dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. She is a certified yoga teacher and continues to train in the Viewpoints and Suzuki methods.

Stage combat allows Lauren to use her movement skills to illuminate the implications and repercussions of violence in our culture. Using stage and film she can investigate violence and perhaps begin to make sense of how and why  it serves humanity.
